40 days ago I made the commitment to create a lifestyle focused on the optimum fitness I desired. I’d been on and off the weight loss band wagon for years. To stay focused I signed up to work up with the phenomenal celebrity fitness coach, Anthony Elfonzia, founder of the Non-Negotiable 90 program and hit the group running.
His approach is to nurture the total wellness spectrum – mind, body and spirit. I liked his approach and knew it would bring tremendous value to my life. However, I didn’t know that under his training I would discover WHY I always put back on the weight or resorted to poor habits once the momentum high died down. After just 30 days I was meditating one morning and the answer hit me. I was putting back on weight and returning to poor lifestyle habits because of a moment that happened 10 years ago.
I sat int the doctors office and I felt like I was in a movie when I heard the words come from my doctors mouth “You have breast cancer.” I thought he’d made a mistake, you know, confused my charts with someone else’s. I was in the most optimum physical shape of my life. I was training for a marathon, eating right. But, no, he wasn’t wrong. I did survive this health blow but what I realized i that I never wanted to return to the optimum weight I was when I heard the news of my being diagnosed with breast cancer. Everytime I got closer to the size I was I would put the weight back on. WHOA!
What a revelation. Once I got clear about what I’d been doing to myself all these years I committed to releasing this story and replacing it with the truth, that there is no guarantee that anything will happen once I have my optimum health and fitness level where I prefer it. In fact, there is no foretelling of anything and I’d be best served by getting busy living my glorious life!
Well, I’m doing just that. So far I’ve lost 2 dress sizes and my eating has been regulated to 4 times a day when I had only been eating twice. My eating habits were my worst enemy. I found out that I was stalling my metabolism by not eating enough food. I actually complained to coach Anthony that I was eating too much! Now, I feel healthier and less bloated. I workout 5 times a day for just 20-30 minutes and I’m continuing my practice of daily meditation.
I was recently at an event and met someone that I only knew from social media. She’s been following my daily posts as I share my fitness journey and she told me that I looked fine and asked me why was I even trying to loose weight. I reminded her that no one knows the inside of someone else’s story and we’re better served when we don’t assume we know better then they do what kinds of goals they should have.
I’m beyond thrilled to have experienced such a wonderful breakthrough. My zest for life is renewed and I am ready for the next 50+ years of my life!
